#103 Forever & A Day: A Celebration of Love, 1 Year Later (Before & After) w/ Kevin & Rosa

3 Years in the making, 2 people in love, and a 1 year delay because of the pandemic later... it FINALLY happened. Kevin and Rosa had their wedding. This event has really put them through the ringer but it goes to show that them being able to lean on each other and carry on, they picked the right partner to spend the rest of their life together with. With all the stress, planning, and last minute changes behind them, the focus can now be towards the future. 

But speaking of Time, I take you on a journey where we experience the week of the wedding. First I go back a couple of days before the wedding to see what their feelings are before the big day. Then the 2nd half of this MONSTER of an episode, I talk to them a week AFTER the wedding to see how it all went down. I also quiz them on how well they know each other while they quiz ME on how well I know THEM. Finally, they share their list of banned music not to be played at the wedding, and there's definitely some surprises on there! All in all, It was a fun episode to be had. Finally, I'll also touch upon black representation in media and how despite the advances and inclusions in today's media, I seem can't find "me" in them. #88 Putting The ”Ho” in Housewife, But Not The Ho in Home w/ Ricardo E.

We all heard the line before "Can you make a ho into a housewife?" right? But what about putting the "ho" back into the house wife? Why have our women lost their 'mojo' and hung up their sex jersey in the rafters after attaining their championship "ring"? Why don't women want to engage in the more salacious acts that Hoes are more inclined to do to make Hoes obsolete? Contrary to popular belief a wise Snoop Dogg said it best, "We don't love dem hoes". Sure they're fun fun as all hell, but at the end of the day we ultimately want 1 woman to be "The" woman for us, mind, body, and soul. We don't want a Ho as a housewife, but we certainly don't want to lose the ho that our woman once possessed. We still want Sasha Fierce in our Suzy Homemaker. But what if we can't get that? What if our lady is done with "that side" of her? Will the ho creep in now to take her place?

Sometimes, it's rough. Sometimes, it's just too much. Sometimes, you've had enough. Then, sometimes... the thought just creeps in.  "Should I?" "Why not?" "No one will care" "No one ever cares" "I'll finally be free". Some people snap out of it, some don't. It can be an overwhelming experience to contemplate taking your own life and in your head you can be feel justified, but I promise you there's more to it than that. In this episode, Ricardo and I talk about the talks of suicide and the broader scope of death. How those experiences affected us, our thoughts on the act itself, our contemplation of it, and even some hot takes on some of our beloved stars who've died. We run the gamut on the topic and we hope you got something out of our talk.
